From November 26thto 27th, the "Southeast Asia Forum" 2022 International Conference and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Collaborative Innovation Forum on Integration of Industry and Education, jointly sponsored by the Southeast Asia Research Center of South China Normal University, Guangdong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Guangdong International Cultural Exchange Center and the Cross-Straits and Hong Kong and Macao Collaborative Innovation Alliance, was successfully held in South China Normal University in the form of "Online + offline". Representatives of political, academic, business and social experts from Beijing, Guangdong, Yunnan, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and 11 countries in Southeast Asia and Central Asia gathered to discuss ways of cooperation and development.. Wang Binwei, Secretary of the Party committee of South China Normal University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a welcome speech. Wu Jian, vice president of South China Normal University and director of Southeast Asia Research Center, presided over the opening ceremony. As one of the organizers of this forum, Luyan, deputy secretary of the Party committee of GZCCC, led a delegation to participate in the forum and presided over the Sub-forum on "Chinese + Vocational" Talent Training.

Based on the spirit of this year's "Asian Moment" in Southeast Asia and the guidance of "Joining hands for recovery and collaborative innovation", this "Southeast Asia Forum" is focusing on the theme of "jointly addressing challenges and deepening exchanges and cooperation between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asian countries", aiming to deepen the collaborative innovation and development of the Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia by relying on regional and development advantages, optimizing the pattern of multilateralism to meet new challenges under the changing global situation, and promote academic discussions and exchanges between China and ASEAN to build a closer community of shared future.
As one of the organizers of this forum, GZCCC hosted the Sub-forum of "Reshaping the 'Chinese + vocational' Talent Training System for a Sustainable Future: Knowledge Generation and Practice Route". Thirteen guests from Mainland China, Macao, the Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand and Kyrgyzstan at home and abroad discussed the theme of the forum from different perspectives. Lu Yan chaired the sub-forum.
Lu Yan, on behalf of the organizing committee, first extended a welcome to all the guests. He said that as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement took effect, the cooperation between Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the RCEP Member States has further deepened. Especially in the current turbulent situation and conflicts, the importance of Southeast Asian countries has attracted the attention of the world. How to rely on the regional advantages and development advantages to deepen the collaborative and innovative development between GBA and Southeast Asian countries, and how to reshape the "Chinese + Vocational" talent training system is an important topic worthy of discussion. The experts and scholars present at the meeting provided insightful and thought-provoking insights for the construction of the "Chinese + Vocational" talent training system, providing perspectives on the international development of China's vocational education.
Lin Feng, director of the Publishing Department of the Philippine Chinese Education Center, Xie Boyi, executive vice president of the Guangzhou Association of Returned Overseas Chinese from the Philippines, and Dr. Musapar Orozaliev, President of the Kyrgyz Institute of Innovation Professions, delivered presentations respectively titled "the joint construction of the Philippine Luban Workshop between China and the Philippines shed light on Chinese + vocational education in the Philippines," “New opportunities for the development of Chinese education and vocational education in the Philippines under the digital trend "and" Science and educational cooperation: the project of the Silk Road Institute between Guangzhou City Construction College (GZCCC) and Kyrgyz Institute of Innovation Professions. From different perspectives, the above presentations shared the practical significance, realization path and developmental trend of the overseas "Luban Workshop" project jointly built with GZCCC and Sino-foreign cooperation in the training of "Chinese + vocational skills" talents as well. Chen Nan, director of the Foreign Affairs Office (International Exchange Center) of GZCCC, also made a speech at the forum, sharing the exploration and experience of constructing the "Chinese + Vocational" talent training system for international students, from several aspects such as the "big-ship strategy" thinking on the internationalization of higher vocational education, the strategic thinking of integrating domestic and overseas resources, the practice in jointly building "Luban Workshop" and "Silk Road College" abroad, as well as cultivating "double-qualified" teachers with four abilities.

The sub forum of this international conference not only provided a platform for experts and scholars at home and abroad in Southeast Asia and Central Asia to hold in-depth discussion on how to carry out Chinese + Vocational Education under the global changes, but also further strengthened the contact between our college and relevant countries in Southeast Asia and Central Asia, meanwhile enhancing our international influence.
