Foreigners who intend to work in the P.R. China for a period of time such as one year should hold a Work Visa (Z Visa) to enter Mainland China. So foreign teacher applicants need to submit a Foreigner’s Work Permit obtained through their employers in China.
Foreigners who do not intend to work for a relatively long period in the P.R. China - or who wish to take a short-term travel – are not required to apply for this permit. They can apply for a Business Visa (F Visa) or Tourist Visa (L Visa).
Primary Documents Required
To apply for a Foreigner's Work Permit, you will need to supply the following documents:
• Bachelor Degree or Higher + Authentication
• Criminal Background Check + Authentication
• Proof of Qualification (may need Authentication)
• Medical Checkup
• Release letter from previous employer if applicable
and:
• Passport Information Page
• Passport Current Visa Page
• Passport size photo + digital version
• Employment Contract (Even if you're the boss apparently)
• Other information
Note: All non-Chinese documents must be translated to Chinese and stamped by a school (which teaches the language) or a legal translation company.
